Credit Unions and   SHG’s

The Credit Unions affiliated to KDSS functions well with the direction of DVS.  Apart from this SHG’s also functions.  The units have credit facilities.

Community Based Rehabilitation

St. John’s Training and Rehabilitation Centre for exceptional children functions under DVS as a day Care cum special school for mentally challenged children.  The centre provides formal education, ADL training, Physiotherapy, Speech therapy, Occupational therapy and   IGP for the parents from BPL families.  The support is extended at three different levels

           Medical interventions especially corrective surgery, aids and appliances.
           Educational expenses
           Income generation projects to the parents

Indigenous Medicines

“Placing people’s health in people’s hands” is one of the approaches to achieve positive health.  Promotion of indigenous systems of medicine, and propagating medicinal plants are universally affordable method in achieving health.  We strive to discourage the excessive dependence on chemically formulated drugs and to promote the use of herbal medicines.
